Candice Flor Hynek

Candice Flor Hynek is Associate Economist for the LAEDC’s Kyser Center for Economic Research. She works with the Chief Economist and Senior Economist to prepare the Kyser Center’s regular economic reports and also periodic briefings presented to corporate and government groups. She is the editor of the e-EDGE, LAEDC's weekly economic newsletter. She also writes the residential and nonresidential construction outlook for LAEDC’s Economic Forecast. With Dr. Sidhu, Candice contributes economic outlook articles semi-annually to Slingmakers, the newsletter of the Associated Wire Rope Fabricators’ (AWRF). She has co-authored with Kyser a report on The Business of Sports in Los Angeles County.
Candice has developed specialized knowledge about the structure of many important industries in the Greater Los Angeles region. She tracks and prepares reports on major business expansions. Also, she is the project manager of LAEDC's Roadmaps to Industry Clusters in Los Angeles County publication.
Ms. Flor Hynek graduated from the California State University, Long Beach, with a degree in Business Economics and was a member of the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. She serves on the Board of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), currently as President. She is active in the national NABE, as a member of the Programs and Mentoring Committee of the Get Connected program. Candice mentored the 2008 winning team of theCalifornia Council on Economic Education’s Capital Market Contest.
