David Flaks
Director of Policy Initiatives
David Flaks joined the LAEDC in July 2007 to help bring focus to our various Strategic Advisory Committees and provide the necessary leadership working with Committee Chairs and members to provide influence in areas that affect the vitality of our local economy. Mr. Flaks most recently served as the Communications Director for the Democratic nominee in a high-profile United States Congressional race in Arizona. Prior to this position, he served as President of David Flaks Capital, a communications and financial consulting firm that provided strategic communications and financial advisory services for medical technology companies, and co-founded Ten Peaks Capital, a private consulting firm that provided corporate partnering, communications, and financial advisory services for life sciences companies.
Mr. Flaks has also held positions with the corporate law departments at law firms in New York and Miami as well as with the SEC and the New York State Attorney General.
He graduated with Distinction from the University of Wisconsin with a B.S. in Philosophy, received his J.D. from American University, Cum Laude, and graduated as Valedictorian from the George Washington University with a M.A. in Political Management.
