Nhien Barros
Director of Communications and Marketing
Nhien Barros is Director of Communications and Marketing for the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation and the World Trade Center Association LA-LB. Ms. Barros works to promote the activities of the LAEDC and WTCA LA-LB through online, print and broadcast media outlets and other special projects aimed at showcasing the Los Angeles County region. She also works on a variety of events for the LAEDC including the semi-annual Economic Forecast, International Trade Trends, and Eddy Awards. In addition to her primary responsibility of promoting the LAEDC and WTCA LA-LB, she manages the day-to-day activities of the Marketing and Communications department.
Prior to joining the LAEDC, Ms. Barros co-owned Renaissance Malibu, a private health care facility located in Malibu, CA. She successfully established a marketing and public relations strategy for the organization that resulted in local and national media coverage of the organization which more than doubled the company’s revenues within the first year. She has held previous positions in marketing and public relations for technology, financial services, and media firms.
Ms. Barros is a member of the Downtown Business Improvement District marketing committee, and she also volunteers as a mentor for the I Have a Dream Foundation in Los Angeles. She holds a B.S. in communication from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
